Hi - I'm Ann Clifton
I've been writing poetry since I was 18, and am now well past retirement. I've had a few published some time ago by Forward Press, and produced a photobook for friends.
Most of my poems are on Christian themes - sometimes written during the sermon, on the sermon! (No, I don't know how it works, but it happens, and the speakers have been satisfied with what I have written!) A large number are also written to encourage people who are 'going through it' - either physically - especially with chronic pain, or with emotional issues such as depression and anxiety, and I hope to use my own experiences, and that which I've learned from others, to give support and encouragement. Some, especially in the prayer section, are very personal, coming out of my struggles with depression etc., and my own sinfulness - but, praise the Lord, He is greater than depression, pain, or any other trials we may face. (Some were also written several years ago.) However, there are no simplistic answers - there is much we do not understand, as we see Christians suffering poverty, persecution and illness, but we look to a time of full wholeness in every way, in a new heaven and a new earth.
If you feel they might be of help to others, you have my permission to use them, provided that my name is given as the author.
I love nature and animals, and have written some on these topics. I will be creating a second website with pictures and details of my pets. Many people are shocked that they are not the usual dogs and cats - when I was working it wouldn't have been fair on them to be confined all day. I kept Syrian hamsters - and still have one - but a few years ago I was asked to rehome two pet rats, whose owner was too ill to care for them. Little did I know how habit-forming they would become, or how many varieties and varied temperaments there are! Getting on forums, and on the show circuit has proved really interesting as I meet other, likeminded, people.
I also love photography, and may later include some of my pictures and montages.
